I like to sit down and create... but I seriously lack inspiration. Which is a really big bug bear of mine.
When I AM inspired however, I am completely focussed and I will not stop until I am finished.
I put all this down to my fire sign and itchy feet! :D
I love good traditional art and am in awe of these art masters. I just look at their art and drool.

Today I made a special trip to buy some things I can't get in my home town.  So I drove 2 hours to get some art supplies and a few other things.  I had the day all planned out.  Then I always drive home the scenic way, which takes a little bit longer but is a much more enjoyable drive for me.  I looooove windy roads and today I was able to enjoy the road to the fullest with no other traffic in my way for a change.  :claps:

Usually I encounter several dead spots where there is little or no good radio reception.  So when I was planning the trip a few days ago, I made sure to download an audio book to my phone, and I listened to that all the way there and back again.
What a great idea this was.  I chose a murder mystery and although I found it overly descriptive in the first hour or so, I am now hooked and I can't wait to finish it.   Mostly because I want to know WHY THEY DID IT!   hahaha.

And what did I buy today?  ah ha, well I got some sketch paper, including a pad of black that was on special; some brushes; a kneadable eraser; some masking fluid; a spray fixative; some soft pastels; a sponge; a tiny wee foam roller (just because it was cute); a craft cutting board; a new pillow for my poor head to rest on; a radio for the kitchen - the old one has died; and some pencil grips.  I didn't find everything on my list in the shops, but I can get them online easily enough.

And now I'm enjoying a nice cuppa (or three) after my seven hour outing.  I'm glad I only do this a few times a year!
Of course now I have placed pressure on myself to actually use this stuff...  oh my goodness.

Cherries by Ollie487
I've decided to learn how to watercolour, and it's fun although a lot different to painting with acrylics (which I'm also no expert at).
Anyway, this is the first thing I've done that looks even a bit like it's supposed to.
I followed this tutorial by Barry Toshio Shiraishi
My scanner has increased the saturation, and I couldn't edit it back to how it really looks.
Relics - digital by Ollie487
Relics - digital
hmmm, I had a go at making the previous image as digital, and it's rather warm in tone.  I also etched the relics a bit, because they've been around forever you know.

Art Group today was still on shapes.
Acrylic paint, pastels for extra oomph, and coloured pencils for accents.  On canvas.

Weird Snail
I dreamed of a snail like this last night.  Yes I have strange dreams.

You did effect my tutorial? There were no problems?
Ollie487 Featured By Owner 4 days ago
Yes I had a play with it, and although my results were not quite like yours, it was interesting.  Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

It also depends on the choice of photographs. The best as there is too much background - at least too much.

Thank you for the watch!

I have the same when I'm inspired. That's why I never go without my small notebook/ or smartphone so I can write down all ideas :)
